Do you charge for estimates?
Every job is priced by quote. Call and describe the issue; for most service calls we can give you a clear picture over the phone and confirm the number on site before any work starts. The quote you approve is the price you pay.
Do you do emergency plumbing?
Yes. Burst pipes, no water, sewage backup, or a water heater dumping into the garage: call the number at the top of the page and say it's an emergency. If you can, shut off your main water valve first.
Where is my main water shutoff?
Usually where the water line enters the house: garage, crawlspace, utility room, or near the water heater. There's also a shutoff at the meter by the street. If you're not sure, we'll show you on our first visit so you know for next time.
How do I know if my water heater needs replacing?
Look at the age. Tank heaters last roughly 8 to 12 years; the serial number tells you the year. Rust-colored hot water, rumbling, a leaking tank, or running out of hot water faster than before are the common signs. If it's under 8 years old and leaking from a fitting rather than the tank, it's often repairable, and we'll say so.
Tank or tankless?
Tankless gives endless hot water and takes up less space but costs more upfront and may need gas line or venting changes. A tank is cheaper and simpler. It depends on your household size, gas supply, and how long you plan to stay in the home. We'll walk you through it honestly rather than push the bigger ticket.
My water pressure is low. What's going on?
Could be a failing pressure regulator, a partially closed valve, corroded galvanized pipe, or a leak in the water service line between the street and the house. A wet or unusually green spot in the yard is a tip-off. We diagnose before we quote.
Do you install water filtration or softeners?
Yes. Whole-home filtration and softening systems sized to your water and your household. Bring us a water test if you have one; if not, we can help you get one.
What is hot water recirculation?
A small pump and loop that keeps hot water moving so it's at the tap in seconds instead of minutes. It saves water and waiting, especially in larger homes or where the water heater is far from the bathroom.
Do you handle remodels and new construction?
Yes. Rough-in and finish plumbing for kitchens, baths, additions, ADUs, and new builds. We coordinate with your contractor and our work is done to code and built to pass inspection.
